Thermal Access Terminal – OET-213H-BTM32 Review

Introduction

As of July 2020, we are in the middle of a global Covid-19 pandemic. The province of Ontario is moving into stage 2 re-opening, which includes many restaurants and businesses. Certainly, there has been a surge in demand for effective thermal screening solutions. GS Global Security is excited to introduce OET-213H-BTM32 terminal for thermal face screening. In particular, the device will automatically read the temperature of a person and sound an alert if the temperature exceeds a certain threshold. To begin with, let’s take a look at the design and setup for the device.

Design and Specifications

The OET-213H-BTM32 is compact, non-contact detection unit designed for schools, office buildings, and other important areas. The main unit is 5.3” wide by 12” tall, with a 7-inch screen at 600*1024 resolution. The visible light camera is 2MP WDR with a large F1.6 aperture for capturing faces. A thermal sensor is also included, to be mounted directly above the unit. It features a ±0.3°C temperature accuracy within 1m, perfect for quickly scanning employees or customers.

Inside the box, we find the main unit along with various connectors for installation. We find the included forehead temperature unit, along with 4 wires for install (2 power/2 data). Also, you can mount the unit using the included desktop bracket, floor mount with EP-S31-W-NB or wall mount with included wall bracket. For more information about installation this product, checkout the installation manual at the bottom of the page.

Access Terminal Setup

Before you install or wire anything, make sure you refer to the three manuals at the bottom of this page. They will cover 90% of the setup process, including wiring and installation. If you are mounting the device to a desk or wall, all accessories are included with the device. For a free-standing floor installation, you need to purchase EP-S31-W-NB separately (please inquire).

Firstly, ensure the terminal is setup in an indoor environment, with no wind. Second, allow the device to warmup for 15 minutes before taking temperatures, for best results. Last, make sure to measure temperature within 1 metre of the device. Additionally, you can add the OET-213H to a local PC by downloading the latest version of EZStation 3.0 and adding the device under “Access Control Device”. As a result, you can remotely monitor the people coming into the building, and take action if anyone has a high temperature.
